Background:


Our client, a global pharmaceutical and healthcare scientificcommunications agency, are now seeking a Medical Editor to join their team. Youwill report to the Editing Team Manager and are involved in the development ofhigh-quality medical communications materials.


Projects include a diverse range of materials: complex trainingprogrammes (educational slide sets and printed training manuals), meetingmaterials and signage, product monographs, scientific publications, websitesand apps.


You will uphold process and templates/styles throughout the project,responsible for maintaining standards of language, style and layout, workingwith other teams (Scientific/Creative/Digital) and Editorial colleagues toproduce accurate, consistent materials to time and specification.


Skills and abilities


·                    Excellent English language skills and ability to adapt editing style todifferent materials, target audiences and therapy areas


·                    Robust familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Wordand PowerPoint). Experience of working with templates and figure redrawing isbeneficial


·                    Adept at communicating clearly and working effectively, collaboratingwith colleagues and teams both in the same office and in other offices


·                    Experience of referencing software (e.g. Reference Manager, Endnote) andan understanding of databases is beneficial


Qualifications and experience


·                    Degree-educated in a science subject


·                    Medical communications agency experience strongly preferred


·                    2+ years of experience of medical editing and day-to-day involvementwith detailed QC checks


Knowledge


·                    Microsoft Office applications – primarily PowerPoint, Word


·                    BSI standard proofing marks


·                    Adobe Acrobat – electronic mark-up


·                    Referencing software experience useful
