Owing to strong organic growth across our existing accounts, we are looking for agency-experienced Senior Scientific Project Leaders to join our talented team.

This is a hybrid role, and, as such, its core responsibilities are to lead individual workstreams and/or account teams and to assist in the development and review of high-quality and accurate scientific and strategic content that meets our clients’ needs. The focus of this hybrid role is on holistic project delivery and team management. The role combines conventional project management, scientific content development and strategic oversight. You will apply wide and in-depth medical communications knowledge to provide strategic guidance, maintain compliance standards, and autonomously lead and oversee delivery of a range of projects and workstreams for one or more account, in partnership with senior scientific team members. You will lead financial and account planning discussions with clients and also input on the development of scientific content as required. In collaboration with senior team members, you will be responsible for team management, resourcing and the development of less experienced team members. As a Senior Scientific Project Leader at Helios, you will typically lead one large or two smaller accounts and/or clients to ensure a varied experience in medical communications.

The Helios Senior Scientific Project Leader role – what we are looking for:
  • Life science / biological science degree is essential (minimum 2:1)
  • Higher degree is preferable (PhD or MSc)
  • Project management or strategic delivery experience in a client-facing role within an agency (minimum 6 years’ experience) is essential
  • Medical writing agency experience (or other relevant editorial experience) is essential
  • Prior experience in pharma is desirable
  • Excellent organisation

  • Excellent editorial/writing ability and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication
