Touch Medical Media develops practice-changing educational resources that have a positive impact on knowledge transfer, healthcare professional (HCP) competency and performance with the objective of improving patient outcomes. 

These resources are delivered in multiple formats and can be accessed via multiple platforms, allowing busy HCPs to enhance their knowledge and skills at a time and in a place that suits them.

Members of our Medical & Editorial team enjoy a high degree of autonomy in their work, and with this responsibility comes opportunities to form key working relationships with colleagues in the education management, creative, and digital teams, as well as develop collaborative partnerships with internationally renowned clinical experts.

As a core member of the team, you will be responsible for the editorial development of new business proposals and educational materials produced in both traditional (e.g. slide decks, meeting materials, supplements) and digital (e.g. websites, webinars, video, infographic) formats. You will employ your own subject matter knowledge and experience in leading complex educational activities from a scientific writing perspective. Working closely with our Medical Directors, Education Directors/Managers, Editors and clinical experts, you will ensure all your materials are written to the highest scientific quality and meet key learning objectives that address unmet educational needs.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clinical experts and actively identify new opportunities for developing medical education that continue to address unmet needs for HCPs.
  • Show a proactive and flexible approach to your work, regularly supporting the team with both new business development and activity delivery.
Key responsibilities
  • Effectively lead the delivery of assigned activities, including taking responsibility for the development process, review, approval and adherence to timelines.
  • Ensure that your work is of high quality, scientifically accurate, appropriate to the target audience, meets the educational objectives of the activity and conforms to industry guidelines.
  • Serve as the lead scientific contact for your clinical experts (and pharmaceutical supporters), building key relationships and contributing to the identification of new educational activities.
  • Provide editorial support and guidance along with strategic input to supporter accounts, actively seeking to add value and working closely with the education management team to ensure activities are completed on time and within budget.
  • Proactively manage workload and assist with forecasting resource requirements to adequately service educational activities.
  • Appropriately report any clinical expert comments or feedback to the wider team that may impact upon the wider programme of work.
  • Maintain knowledge in relevant therapy areas, industry guidelines and best practices.
  • Provide excellent scientific and strategic input during interactions with clinical experts/supporters.
  • Represent the company at key events and meetings with clinical experts/supporters.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of new business proposals, attending pitches as required to secure new business and grow existing accounts.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments and senior management, and proactively seek ways to improve efficiency or quality to achieve team goals.
  • Provide inspiration, share best practice and actively encourage team members to be more creative and innovative in their approach.
Key attributes / skills / competencies
  • Life science degree essential, higher degree (PhD) preferred.
  • Appropriate industry experience, ideally in an agency environment.
  • Experience of a broad range of medical education activities across the full range of media.
  • Ability to pick up on new therapy areas quickly and to work independently across multiple activities.
  • Excellent scientific writing style.
  • On-site and supporter facing experience essential.
  • Fantastic attention to detail.
  • Good team player.
  • Proven organisational and planning abilities.
  • Proactivity and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Previous line management and/or mentoring experience preferred.
