Medical Writer (Digital) - Central London

For an independent, all-digital healthcare communications agency.

Following a period of sustainable and robust growth, this agency are looking to expand their medical writing team and nurture a talented and motivated medical writer with around 3 years’ experience.

Therapy areas focus on Oncology and Haematology, specialising in: Content Strategy, Prelaunch engagement, Content Development, Online Meetings, Medical Education, Patient Programmes, Meetings and congresses, Video Content, Websites, Mobile, and eLearning. Also work in the biotech field.

The ideal candidate would have the following attributes:
Essential
• Life science degree (BSc or MSc)
• Around 3 years of experience working in a medical communications agency
• Experience in writing medical content for digital assets for brand and medical education teams
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to understand detailed medical and scientific information in various therapeutic areas
• Knowledge of industry guidelines (i.e. ABPI)
• Excellent attention to detail
• Team player who can work to deadlines
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills

Desirable
• PhD in life sciences
• Experience in writing for the therapeutic areas of oncology or psychiatry
• Experience in writing for digital assets, such as websites, apps, animations and other videos
• Experience in working in a fast-paced, agile environment, and managing own workload independently
• Experience in the development of brand messaging and content strategy
• Experience using Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Suite

Key role responsibilities include:
• Demonstrate knowledge of relevant medical and scientific content (terminology, scientific/medical concepts, study designs, statistical concepts)
• Demonstrate knowledge of the therapeutic areas covered by allocated accounts
• Interpret and explain clinical data from a variety of sources, including research documents, tables, figures, and listings
• Gather, review and analyse pertinent resources to produce high-quality content assets with minimal support
• Develop a wide range of content assets, including digital, print, and video
• Develop assets that are appropriate for the intended audiences that are scientifically & grammatically accurate
• Work collaboratively with other team members, including non-Editorial colleagues, to deliver high quality work
• Work with the senior team to create, roll out, and maintain medical writing and QC processes
• Edit documents (revise, correct, or rearrange content, language, style, or structure) based upon the required level of edit
• Deliver written / visual assets that tell a narrative
• Employ creative writing skills to develop engaging scientific content
• Develop strategic plans, which include the implementation of key messages and scientific narrative across multiple assets and activities with support from Content Lead
• Manage own time efficiently, and deliver assets within established timelines
• Delegate work efficiently to other team members, including other non-editorial colleagues
