Lead Developer

Business Type: Medical Communications Agency
Job Type: Medical Communication
Job Level: Management
Position: Full Time
Location: East Sussex
Reference: Peg8
Background:
Every day we inspire people to change their behaviour and make better healthy decisions. From the food they eat, to the products they put on their skin, and from the medicines they take to the routines they adopt to prevent or manage long-term illness.

We are looking for a Lead Developer with the ability to drive multiple projects at once, manage a small team and take on everything from VR and game development projects to
front end web development and technical consultancy.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to lead our development/technology proposition and help shape the services we offer, the processes we use and the type of work we undertake.

About you:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - we aim to solve a wide variety of problems for our clients and your creative solutions will often underpin our approach
  • Happy working in multidisciplinary teams – the majority of the work you’ll undertake will be integrated. You’ll regularly be working with senior members of the PR, Digital and Design teams and not everyone will understand complex technical detail
  • Hands-on experience with the Full stack
  • Naturally curious and keen to explore and learn new technologies
  • Have the ability to look beyond a specific framework or library
  • Happy to help attitude
  • Previous agency experience is an advantage

The Role:

  • Leading the development team and managing freelance resource
  • Managing large-scale digital projects from a technical perspective and overseeing the delivery of smaller projects
  • Technical project management, planning and developing budgets and SOW
  • Advocating and promoting new technology approaches and methodologies with clients and internal teams
  • Helping the develop the various services we offer clients, including UX, VR, AI and emerging technologies
  • Working with the wider group to develop exsisting processes, security and technical infrastructure
  • Generating and communicating creative ideas and technical solutions for new briefs
  • Developing prototypes or proofs-of-concept for pitches and proposals
  • Working closely with internal teams, including digital, design and account management

Skills:

  • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, PHP, WordPress, Drupal, Node.js, React, MySQL, Unity, Grunt or Gulp, SASS, Source control (Git), Photoshop or XD (exporting), DNS, Apache

In return, you will receive a very competitive benefits package (London benchmarked salaries, competitive annual leave, private healthcare and lots more). You will also be part of the Pegasus family, where our values-based approach and
award winning ‘people culture’ will ensure that your happiness at work is our priority. But most importantly, you get the opportunity to really make a difference: ‘Inspiring healthy decisions’ is the only rule. We want to say “we did that” about some of the industry’s most exciting work that really changes people’s lives for the better. If you do too then we’d love to hear from you.
