Job Details:

JUNIOR COPYWRITER

ABOUT US

CDM London has had a new lease of life. Overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral and The Shard from the 5th floor of Omnicom’s Bankside HQ, the sleeping giant of the London agency world has awoken.

A 5-year turnaround at CDM London has resulted in a true agency rebirth. Starting with some of the most talented people around, CDM London has become the fastest growing agency in London, consistently building strong client relationships to produce great work, resulting in a burgeoning creative reputation and a flourishing and growing business.

This renaissance has been built on the values on which CDM was founded in 1984: Substance, Style, Conviction and Grace. We believe in our values, live our values and evaluate ourselves and each other against our values. They define how we work with each other, and with our clients, to provide a full range of multichannel marketing and creative services across the health and wellness industry and across all audiences worldwide.

Substance

We’re in the business of communicating ideas about health. So we insist on, and value, substance. This means understanding medicine. Knowing the data. Digging into science. Appreciating what it’s like to be a patient. And surrounding ourselves with those who can help us learn and understand even more.

Style

We believe in bringing style and creativity to everything we do. Because even though we live in the world of healthcare (where substance truly matters), we still have to compete to be heard. Creativity is a powerful and necessary business tool that can give brands – and our clients – a meaningful edge.

Conviction

We believe that medicine is a powerful force for good. It can ease suffering and save or extend human life. But fighting disease takes more than great medicine, it also takes great communication. That’s why we have such conviction about the work we do, the brands we create and the clients we serve.

Grace

We care deeply about our work and about the people we work with. Civility, dignity, decency and respect are what we expect from ourselves and from each other. We strive to be collegial partners and collaborators and do our best to navigate even the most difficult situations with grace.

Our motto is ‘Lifechanging’. That’s for our clients, their brands and their careers. And it’s for our agency and the people who work here. We’re all passionate about doing work that changes the lives of patients, carers and society for the better.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking to add a Junior Copywriter to our burgeoning creative department. We’re looking for someone with a flair for turning hard data into engaging copy and the willingness and ability to grab a brand by its horns and steer it in the right direction.

At CDM, writers are pivotal team members for their assigned brands. You will get exposed to our clients (and their medics) and deliver solutions that exceed expectations, working tightly alongside art, planning and accounts colleagues. You will work alongside more experienced writers on key creative and strategic projects and programmes.

Working and thinking autonomously within a strong copy team, this role offers an interesting balance of development and brand leadership. Also working in tandem with the scientific, strategic and account departments, there will be involvement across key clients and the opportunity to help define tone of voice and style for your brands.

Attributes

You will be passionate about health and about the role that our work can play in promoting strong, well-informed decisions around health issues for all audiences. You will be someone who enjoys working collaboratively and is a natural learner.

You are a story-teller: someone who loves finding a compelling narrative, with a desire to produce insightful, impactful and engaging work. You will be inquisitive, and determined to find a creative solution to any problem. You’ll also be a firm believer in the importance of making work fun. It’s advertising: if we’re not having fun, we’re not doing it right.
