About the Role:

The Designer, Information Visualisation Specialist, is part of the core creative team, and is responsible for designing, developing and delivering a wide range of communication materials for our pharmaceutical clients across all media platforms. This role requires an understanding of data and the ability to create compelling, easily understandable visual representations of this data. This goes beyond nicely designed flowcharts and pages with large numbers around text and icons. The role needs to understand how to effectively visualize and communicate complex data sets in unique, captivating, and innovative ways.
The Designer, Information Visualisation Specialist will work alongside their colleagues, internal account teams, and the scientific team, maintaining high levels of communication and collaboration. They must demonstrate a proven track record of delivering high levels of creative contributions and design quality, and the ability to creatively solve challenges and make things happen. The ability to sell their work to peers and clients is essential. The role is very hands-on and is often busy; time and self-management skills are essential. The Designer, Data Vis Specialist is expected to work independently and show initiative in their creative work.  A portfolio showcasing previous work is essential.

You will have high standards and be a part of a team that loves to engage with each other and with our agency-wide partners. We expect you to be open to direction and to learn from your manager, senior creatives, and from your peers. We want you to learn to love medical communications as much as we do, and a keen interest in science and medicine will go a long way. 
Skill and Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience as a designer, focusing on data visualization and information graphics
  • A strong portfolio showing skills in design focusing on information design and data visualization. But keep in mind that quality beats quantity; only show us your best pieces
  • Strong infographics and data visualization development ability: distilling content, and developing story flow and information hierarchy
  • Pharma and healthcare experience is desired but not necessary if the individual can demonstrate strong skills related to this role
  • Work showing conceptual thinking is plus
  • Familiarity and comfort with Mac platform
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Illustrator) as well as ability to work in PowerPoint
  • BA or BFA in Graphic Design, Art, or equivalent experience
  • Have a professional attitude and look, and be a strong representative of the Engagement Group and HCG in front of clients
  • Ability to take direction, and a willingness to learn new things
  • Positive thinker and collaborative team member with an ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • The ability to overcome challenging requirements and demonstrate creativity and innovation in finding ways to execute never-been-done-before ideas
  • Keep abreast of the latest creative and digital trends

With current social distancing restrictions, the candidate must be able to work independently from their home, and maintain consistent contact with their manager, fellow EG members, and their account and scientific team using virtual communication platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
