Editorial Assistant - Medcomms - Entry Level

Background:

Our client is a boutique agency with offices in London and Kent. They deliver exceptional healthcare communications and non-promotional medical education. Due to continued success, they are looking for an Editorial Assistant to join their team in Kent.

In this role, you will act as a central resource for the team, support the delivery of materials that are compliant, accurate and meet the high standards expected. You will provide support to the writing team by data checking copy, preparing marked-up reference packages, managing and administering the process for marking up references on on-line databases (e.g. Zinc), and support the development of reference manager libraries. The role will focus heavily on quality control (QC).

In addition to a highly competitive salary, you can expect 25 days holiday increasing with service, non-contributory pension scheme, bonus, private healthcare and lots more. There is lots of opportunity to grow with this thriving company.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a variety of QC/editing tasks
  • Ensure that all materials meet Agency and Client quality standards
  • Undertake the submission process for journals and congresses
  • Perform other administrative tasks to support the writers and the QC process, including obtaining copyright permissions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Life Science degree and higher degree (MSc or PhD)
  • Proven capability for editing and proofing medical education materials to ensure consistent format and language
  • Some practical editorial working experience
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • A good knowledge of MS Word and PPT
  • Knowledge of PDF marking up tools (e.g. Adobe Acrobat Pro) would be an advantage
